Federal Programs Overview
Pettus ISD state and federal programs offer supplemental services to students, schools, and families with educational needs. The goal of these programs is to connect students, families, and the community to provide education and support needed to overcome barriers and achieve academic success and personal success.
Federal Programs
Pettus ISD participates in federally funded programs designed to support students in special populations.
The district participates in the following federal entitlement grants:
- Title I, Part A: Improving Basic Programs
- Title II, Part A: Supporting Effective Instruction
- Title IV, Part A: Student Support and Academic Enrichment
- Title V, Part A: Small, Rural School Achievement Program
Title I, Part A: Improving Basic Programs
Intent and Purpose:
- To provide all children significant opportunities to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps.
Title II, Part A: Supporting Effective Instruction
Intent and Purpose:
- To increase student achievement consistent with the challenging State academic standards.
- To improve the quality and effectiveness of teachers, principals, and other school leaders.
- To increase the number of teachers, principals, and other school leaders who are effective in improving student academic achievement in schools.
- To provide low-income and minority students greater access to effective teachers, principals, and other school leaders.
Title IV, Part A: Student Support and Academic Enrichment
Intent and Purpose:
- To provide all students with access to a well-rounded education.
- To improve school conditions for student learning.
- To improve technology in order to enhance academic outcomes and digital literacy of students.
Title V, Part A: Small, Rural School Achievement Program
Intent and Purpose:
- To allow states and local educational agencies the flexibility to target federal funds to the programs and activities that most effectively address the unique needs of states and localities.

Federal Report Cards
The Federal Report Card provides parents and communities with important information about the performance and progress of schools, districts, and the state. This is a requirement under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). These reports include data to help families better understand how their child's school is performing. Included in the Federal Report Card is information about school performance and state-,
district-, and campus-level data.
